Interview: 10 questions

1. Tell me something about your life and the educational background.
I graduated Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland, MA in Painting.

2. When, how and why started you filming?
I made my first short films during my studies, but after finishing it I had long break in making films. Actually, I started working with video in 2008.

3. What kind of subjects have your films?
I can’t say there is any particular subject of my films. I’m trying to focus on problems which are important to me. Most of my work are inspired by world around me and everyday life.

4. How do you develop your films, do you follow certain principles, styles etc?
I’m trying not to.

5. Tell me something about the technical equipment you use.
I use HD video camcorders, and DSLR cameras. Sound is often recorded with separate equipment. For editing I use standard software, usually Adobe for Windows.

6. What are the chances of the digital video technologies for creating art using “moving images” generally, and for you personally?
Digital video technologies are now accessible for large number of artists and give new opportunities. They are quick and affordable.

7. How do you finance your films?
So far my works are self-financed.

8. Do you work individually as a video artist/film maker or do you work in a team?
if you have experience in both, what is the difference, what do you prefer?

I usually work individually and I have little experience with working in a team.

9. Who or what has a lasting influence on your film/video making?
Painting, experimental video and cinema. It’s hard to say if there are any particular artists or filmmakers.

10. What are your future plans or dreams as a film/video maker?
To keep continue what i’m doing now, and develop new concepts and ideas.
